Question
I would appreciate a detailed solution to this problem.
The following set up is used for problems 11 and 12. A "U" of extremely low resistance wire is shown below with a metal slide on it. The slide has a constant resistance of 0.30 m Ohm and is 15 cm long. The entire assembly is in a magnetic field of 4 m T which is directed as shown. The slide starts at rest and then is pulled to the right so that it accelerates at 5 cm/s2; it is then suddenly pushed to the left at a constant speed of 10 cm/s. (The "U" is sufficiently large that the slide will not leave it.) Which of the figures correctly graphs the current through the loop as a function of time (counterclockwise is positive)?
Explanation / Answer
answer is b the current will be direction in which will oppose the given field
