Question

Can someone please let me know if I've done these problems correctly? I'd really appreciate some feedback and help!!

1. Point A = 8V

Point C is 0V (because it is at ground), Point B is 3V because it's 3ohms from C, Point A is 8V because it's 5ohms + 3ohms, and Point D is -2V because it is 2ohms down from Point C.

2. 2.5A

I=VR ----> I=10V/4ohms = 2.5A

3. I've done a simple drawing of the circuit where the ammeter is in series with R ("a" inside a bubble above the R) and where the voltmeter is in parallel with R("v" inside a bubble in parallel, to the right of R).

4. I need some help with this one!

5. 0.003nF

Dielectric constant (k) = (with dielectric) / (without dielectric)

15 microfarads = 1.5x10^7 Farads *converted microfarads to farads*

1.5x10^7 Farads = 0.015nF *converted the farads to nano farads*

k= (0.015nF) / (5nF) = 0.003nF

Explanation / Answer

1. 8V is correct 2. first you need to the total resistance in the circuit. 4 and 12 are in parallel. that is 3 and it is in series with 7 so total resistance= 10 then current through circuit is 10/10 = 1 it has to be divided between 12 and 4 so current through 4 is 12/(12+4) * 1 = 0.75 A 3. it's correct only 4. Q= CV 12 *10^-6 = 3*10^-6 V= 4 5. 0.003 nF
