This answer has not been graded yet.
The drawing shows that a uniform magnetic field is directed perpendicularly into the plane of the paper and fills the entire region to the left of the y axis. There is no magnetic field to the right of the y axis. A rigid right triangle ABC is made of copper wire. The triangle rotates counterclockwise about the origin at point C. What is the direction (clockwise or counterclockwise) of the induced current when the triangle is crossing each of the following axes? the +y axis the -x axis the -y axis the +x axis For each case, justify your answer. This answer has not been graded yet.Explanation / Answer
A) at this time flux is increasing( taking into +ve) and thus by lenz's law current in triangle will try to decrease it.
so, current in loop is in ACBA ccw direction
C) at this time flux (due to external field ) is decreasing and thus by lenz's law current in triangle will try to increase it.
so, current in loop is in ABCA cw direction.
B)
this time flux due to field is not changing.
but due to existing current in ACBA (ccw) direction and because of it's self inductance it will continue its direction and decrease exponentially.
D)
this time flux due to field is not changing.
but due to existing current in ABCA (cw) direction and because of it's self inductance it will continue its direction and decrease exponentially.
