Consider a pump that runs when powered with 460V 3-phase AC. The pump has a local disconnect with a set of auxiliary contacts. On the face of the local disconnect there is a three-position selector switch giving the operator the following operation modes:

1. Hand

2.Off

3. Auto

The definition of each mode is shown below:

Hand – Allows the operator to manually run the pump when needed.

Off – The pump will not run regards of mode.

Auto- The pump can be remotely started from the control room with a PLC computer-interface or a locally mounted push-button panel. Design the logic that provides all of the above functionality.
