The map of the lac operon goes a little something like this: POZY (you know this from the lecture videos). So let's add to your existing knowledge here. The promoter (P) region is the start site of transcription through the binding of the RNA polymerase molecule before actual mRNA production (you remember this from transcription, hopefully). However, mutationally altered promoters (P) make it impossible for RNA polymerase to bind. So with all of your awesome knowledge, you can make predictions about the effect of P" mutations... filling in this table. Insert a "+" where functional enzymes would be produced (any amount) and a where NO functional enzymes would be produced. I've done the first one as a sample; the rest are up to you.
