Question

Please help me on part B and C ( show work)

When you connect an unknown resistor across the terminals of a 1.50V AAA battery having negligible internal resistance, you measure a current of 17.5mA flowing through it.

a) What is the resistance of this resistor? (Answer= 85.7 ohms)

b) If you now place the resistor across the terminals of a 12.2V car battery having no internal resistance, how much current will flow?

I1=_____?___ mA

c)You now put the resistor across the terminals of an unknown battery of negligible internal resistance and measure a current of 0.459A flowing through it. What is the potential difference across the terminals of the battery?

V2= ___?____ V

Explanation / Answer

part B use ohms law

as V = IR

currrent I = V/R

I = 12.2/85.7

I = 0.1423 Amps

I = 142.3 mA

-----------------------------

V = iR

V = 0.459 * 85.7

V = 39.33 Volts
