which federal regulations have had the biggest impact on health care and why?
eventhough there are many federal regulations available in health care industry, HIPAA has a wide reaching impact in helath care. No one can deny this as it is more comprehensive and more detailed compared with other federal regulations.
It has a mandatory privacy facility programs with required training. It has specific measures to how to protect data. It is the only federal law having notifications on data breach. De-Identification of data also addressed here. It has potent fines for those who violate the regulations. Most other laws have failed to do those things.
