While issuing a certificate by a CA, it should verify the identity of the applicant and once verifued issue a certificate. This can include confirming good standing and active registration in corporate registries as well as fraud, phishing, and government restricted entities and anti-terrorism databases. After issuance of the certificate the public key is made available for verification.
After receiving the requst for revokation of the certificate a updation in CRL (Certificate Revocation List) is required. CRL is a list of digital certificates that have been revoked by the issuing CA before their scheduled expiration date and should no longer be trusted.
