Question
See if the RNA extraction (extracted Ttr mRNA and tRNA) can be seen in the gel below. Please explain in detailed significance of the results, do not just say what band appear prominant.
Marker on lane 1, Lane 2 (ssRNA marker) liver tissue, Lane 4( liver poly-A RNA (extracted mRNA)liver tissue. Lane 6 (tRNA)liver tissue. Lane 8 (total RNA) spleen tissue.
the 2 bands labeled in green are the most prominant.
SSRNA Marker Liver poly-ARNA 3 4 5 Liver total RNA 7 Spleen total RNA 2 6 8 7000nt 5000nt> 4700nt 3000nt 2000nt 1900nt 1000nt ? 500nt ?Explanation / Answer
Form the gel it is clear that mRNA is prominent in all tissue ( the actual condition is not mention in question i.e. in which condition RNA is extracted so that we cant say the mRNA is for which protein)the mRNA from liver and spleen have same size in both tissue and mRNA type of RNA is prominent, and from this result we can conclude that the protein unit in both tissue have same size i.e. the size of particular protein unit is same in both spleen and liver.
