I have done an experiment about the influence of pH on the growth of diatoms. I used pH 6, 7, 8 ,10 as the testing site, then I found that :
pH 8 has most number of diatiom
pH 7 has second most
pH 6 has third most
pH 10 has no alive diatom
So my question is explain and discussion my result.
For some details , the question can be answer : 1 why diatom can alive good in a weaker base envirnment but cannot live in a mild base envirnment?
2 why diatom can live in weaker base envirnment(such as pH8) better than pH7 or pH6(acidic envirnment)?

Ans 1) The diatom is able to live in a weaker base as compared to mild base environment because that pH concentration supports the regulation and metabolism of the diatom. It helps in the process of reproduction and population multiplication due to the favorable conditions. This range of pH is helpful in controlling the bioavailability of the trace metals and reduces the overall toxicity.
Ans 2) The diatom live in weaker base environment better because it helps in controlling the growth rate but also the biochemical composition of the cells. It helps with the extra cellular production and facilitates healthy growth
