When nicotine enters the blood stream by veinsit affects many parts of the body it increases many blood pressure and changes food metabolism and slowly veins becomes tighten and boold flow becomes slow.
Nicotine stimulates nervous system and neurotransmitter. It affects epinephrine which is released as you smoke. Nicotine also triggers dopamine release which gives pleasure while smoking. So the effect stays for sometime and you goes off after sometime . So you feel like smoking again and becomes addicted.
