fare per person =292-x

revenue R=number of passengers*fare per person

R=(220+x)(292-x)

maximum revenue occurs when dR/dx=0

==>(0+1)(292-x) +(220+x)(0-1)=0

==>292-x-220-x=0

==>2x=72

==>x=36

increased number of passengers above 220 =36

==>number of passengers=220+36=256

maximum revenue=R=(220+36)(292-36)
