Question

Less dense air flowing over more dense air is the process of lift from:

A. Orographic lifting

B. Convergence

C. Convective lifting

D. Frontal wedging

E. None of the above

Please explain……………………………………………

It would be D right since frontal lifting also known as frontal wedging because denser air acts as a barrier or it can be E because only frontal weding is the only option but cooler air is dense and it act as a barrier against the warmer air, which is less dense. Therefore less sense air is not flowing over more dense air. I hope I am making sense right now with my answer. I just know its between D and E and I need some help. Thank you.

Explanation / Answer

Option D is correct.

Frontal Wedging is the process by which cold dense air acts similarly to mountain barrier forcing warmer, lens dense air to rise over it.
