Five athletes from the United States, five athletes from Canada and five athletes from Russia are standing in line to buy tickets for Ice Dancing. How many ways can they stand in line if all five athletes from Russia are standing next to each other? How many ways can they stand in line if no two athletes from Russia are standing next to each other? A tourist was able to get signatures from Olympic athletes from four different countries. She got a total of twelve signatures. Her friend asked her how many signatures she got from each of the four countries. How many different possibilities are there?Explanation / Answer

first write the ways where u can get sum of 12 using 4 numbers such as
12+0+0+0;11+1+0+0.....
in 6th pblm there is a restriction that third and fourth number should not exceed 3 and 4 respectively.
where as in 8th there is no restriction in size of any number..
7) a)given that athelets from russia are standing next to each other so take them one module so there will be 11 modules each person of other countries is 1 module each..
therefore number of ways of arranging is 11!*5!
11!= no of ways 11 modules cn be arranged
5!= no of ways 5 russians are arranged internally.
