1. Write an essay (at least 5 paragraphs) discussing why we use fossil fuels as energy sources.

(at least 5 paragraphs) When fossil fuels are burned, CO2 is released into the atmosphere where is results in an imbalance in the carbon cycle, and the net effect is an increase in atmospheric CO2, a greenhouse gas. Increased CO2 in the atmosphere is linked to global warming and associated climate change issues. Explain the carbon cycle and the role that it plays in the renewable energy picture.
Explanation / Answer
1. The fuel which is formed by natural processes is called fossil fuel and it is the source of energy.Fossil fuels formed of plants and animal by heat and pressure of earth curst through million of years. It contains a lot of carbon. Petrolium, coal and the natural gases are the example of fossil fuel. This is also non renewable energy. We use fossil fuel as the main source of energy because of so many reasons. These are:
Cheap: Fossil fuel is the cheapest source of fuel among the other fuel sources. Now a days technology helps us to extract fossil fuel easily. The extraction of fossil fuel is cheaper than the wind or solar energy installation.
Transportation: Fossil fuels can be transported easily because of their stability. As transportation cost is cheap at present days , coal is transported by highways and petrolium can transported through pipeline.
Availiability: Fossil fuels are available in the world's most countries. So it can satisfy the demand of population all over the world. With the technology developing it can extract, transport in other areas at present. So most of the people is depend on the fossil fuels.
Availiability of By products: After extraction and refinery of fossil fuels we can get other so many by products which is needy for people. like, naptha, polythene etc. Though these are not eco-friendly, but these are very cheap . So the people depend on that product. But we can not get any by products from Other energy sources.
Easy set up of industries: Most of the factories of automobile or other aluminium industries are located in the extract area of fossil fuels. And their availiability Power plant can be set up in the same area. So, we depend on fossil fuel easily than the other wind or water resources.
For these reason we use fossil fuels as energy source mainly.
