Answer:
The condition of American cities in 19th and 20th were very different from 20th and early 21th century. The difference are as follows;
1: Massive population: The population of American cities were very massive in 19th and 20th century, due to the immigiration from the other cities from Europe, china etc. Later the congress banned immigiration.
2: Number of Diseases: Due to the large number of population there were so many diseases spreading such as thypoid, bacterial diseases etc. in that region at the time of 19th and 20th century. And there were no biological advancement and methods to to cure them.
3: Lack of transport: In earlier time, there were lack of transport vehicles as we have today in the form of modern vehicles. At that time there mostly horse car.
4: Infrastructure: At the time of 19th and 20th century the infrastructure were under developed condition in terms of roads, bridges, buildings, hospitals etc.
5: Technology: The difference of technology were there at that time, what we have today there were no such types of modern equipments.
6: Education: The education level are also increased as compared to earlier time, there were no opportunities of education as we have today.
7: Pollution: As the urbanization and industrialization increases, the level of pollution also increases.
