a) As I sent the letter to three trusted friends with my name at last and so three people will recieve the letter with my name at 10th place

b) As each one of the three trusted friends will send the letter to again three persons each with my name on ninth and their name on 10th place and hence total of 3+3+3 = 9 people will get my name on ninth place

c) Now each of these nine people will send my name at 8th place to 3 people respectively. Hence 3*9 = 27 people will recieve my name in 8th place

(e) As from the table 59,049 people recived my name on top and hence I will get $59,049

(f) The chain letter could be illegal because some person could put there name two times in the list
