This unfortunately is a risky measurement for an individual that is not familiar with proper lifting techniques or just the strain of finding the maximum load. A study of 57 females athletes to see if repetitions at a low weight can be correlated to strength measured by the maximum amount the female athlete can lift. Below is the resulting scatterplot, and summary information. The variable x represents the number of 60 lb repetitions that a female athlete bench pressed, and y represents the maximum weight that she bench pressed.
