Question

I have two questions to ask the first one labeled #10 and the second one labeled #11 10) In Manoa Valley on the island of Oahu (Hawaii) the annual rainfall averages 43.6 with standard deviation 7.5 inches. A year is chosen at random. (a) Find the probability that the annual rainfall is more than 56 inches. (b) Find the probability that the annual rainfall is less than 32 inches. (c) Find the probability that the rainfall is between 32 inches and 56 inches. *answers given are (a) P(x>56 in.)=0.0495 , (b) P(x<32in.)=0.0606 and

(c) P(32in. <x<56in.)=0.8899 and also for part c) answers a _ suppose to be underneath the < signs

I've been working on these two problems for over an hour and apparently I can't find a formula in the book related to this nor a chart in the table of index to help me find the answers.

Explanation / Answer

Now annual rainfall is > 56in P(x>56) = 1-P(x
