Explanation / Answer

1) a parabola that opens upwards and has vertex of (3 , 7 )

this can be written as

y = ( x- 3)^2 + 7

or

y = x^2 - 6x + 16

this parabola has no x intercepts as the roots of the parabola are complex

since the leading coefficient is positive hence parabola opens upwards

vertex is found by using formula

x = -b/2a = -(-6 )/ 2(1) = 3

y =  (3)^2 - 6(3)+ 16 = 7

hence vertex is ( 3, 7 )
