This video is highly philosophical. Which means it is perfectly suited for a mathematics class. Indeed, mathematics and philosophy share a common line of reasoning. What is that line of reasoning called? Discuss your thoughts on the video. Did God create the integers? Is the rest the work of man, and what does this mean? Use logic to present your stance with formal reasoning.
Explanation / Answer
Mathematics and philosophy are both entities which are not physical in nature, they are both thoughts and used to connect human minds to physical entities. This is that line of reasoning.God is some entity which is unknown to us,but some mathematicians believe that numbers were created by god and later all relations between them are created and invented to make use of understand the physical nature. But to my understanding, numbers are developed based on common conclusions by humans observing the nature which hold true from ancient to modern times for understanding the physical relations of things, processes etc. Philosophy is the the thought provoking process to understand way of thinking towards to the universe around us,similarly mathematics is a connection between our minds and universe to understand it.So, according to my view, all numbers are created by man observing the universe around him to make things simpler and understand the working of it. Numbers are very similar to language, language is created for communication and understanding, same applies to integers, which are created to understand and specify. There are many languages but the intention of all of them is same i.e., communication and understanding.Similarly integers are carefully devised by man to communicate and understand from ancient times.
