Question

Part 3: Pizza with Pizzazz Revisited Probability Experiment: You have purchased new ovens for your pizza restaurant that cut down on the time it takes to make the pizzas so you have increased the percent of pizzas delivered in 30 minutes or less to 98.5%. Since you know you average about 100 pizza deliveries a week. You decide to make some more calculations about how many pizzas you will need to give away for free if you decide to advertise that pizzas not delivered in 30 minutes or less will be free.

Explanation / Answer

Probablity of delivering Pizzas on time (t<30) = 0.985

Probablity of not delivering Pizzas on time (t>30) (p) = 1-0.985 = 0.015

Total no of pizzas (n)= 100

Expected no of pizza's not delivered on time = n*p = 100*0.015 = 1.5
