The data for this assignment are in T-Shirts .xslx. A fashion company is selling t-shirts in six different sizes: XSmall, Small, Medium, Medium/Large, Large, XLarge-up. The company collected the sales data from different locations. Group(C) Is there any difference between the means of t-shirts sales numbers? Group(B) Compare the sales record of three groups of t-shirt sizes. The first group consists of XSmall and Small sizes, the second group consists of Medium and Medium/Large sizes and the third one is Large and XLarge. Ls there any difference between the sales records of the three groups?

Explanation / Answer

Group B) Do a one way Anova F-TEST

F = MS Between groups/ MS within groups =

MSB = [ n1(mean1 - grand mean)^2 + n2(mean2 - grand mean)^2 + n3 (mean3 - grand mean)^2 ] / (3-1)

MSW = (n1-1) sd1^2 + (n2-1) sd2^2 + (n3-1) sd3^2 ] / (n1+n2-n3 -3)

Since p-value < 0.05, reject H0, there is significant evidence that atleast two of the means are not equal

Group c) For this we have to repeat the above procedure for 6 sizes

Since p-value < 0.05, reject H0. There is significant evidence to say that there is difference between the means of 6 groups.

H0: mu1 = mu2 = mu3 H1: mu1 != mu1 != mu3
