As manager of a small bakery, you must decide how many loaves of bread your employees should bake every day. The daily demand for bread is normally distributed with mean of 45 loaves and standard deviation of 7 loaves. a. What proportion of days will your daily bread demand exceed 50 loaves? b. If your goal is to satisfy your customers' demand for bread 90% of the time, how many loaves should your employees bake each day?Explanation / Answer
6.
Params of normal dist are given clearly:
Mean of the demand= 45
Stdev of demand = 7
a. P(X>50)
= P(Z> 50-45/7)
=P(Z>.714)
=.2389
b. If that' the case then we take out Z corresponsing to p=.9
that' Z=1.28
So, 45+7*1.28 = 53.96 or 54 is the no. of loaves empliyees should bake to
meet 90% of demand
