Question

MetroP 28.11 78% 10:35 AM Week 5 - Probability and https://mybsc.bryantstratton.edu ATH201 Week 5 - Probability and Statistics The concept of statistics where we look at the amount and type of relationship that exists between two variables is the correlation. We can consider whether or how two variables are related to each other and how that relationship functions For example, if you think that the more you study, the higher your grades will be, you are using correlation and prediction. You may have observed that as the number of hours you spend studying increases, so do your overall grades. When two variables such as "time studying" and "grades" both increase at a similar rate, they are related or .. correlated.) In your Initial post, please provide an example of correlation between two variables and state whether the variables are positively or negatively correlated. Be sure your initial post is at least 100 words. Then reply to at least 3 classmates' posts over 3 different days For detailed grading criteria, refer to the Discussion Rubric.

Explanation / Answer

There are very many examples of correlation that we can consider to understand the concept of correlation. Here We can take the example of a vehicle which runs on gas. The more distance you will cover to reach the destination, the less will be the amount of gas left in the cylinder. Provided, you don't refuel it in the midway. Here this is an example of negative correlation. The first varible is covered distance and the second variable is amount of gas left in the cylinder. So, these two variables are - vely correlated as one is increasing as a result, other is decreasing.
