Answer (d) College type liberal arts college, national university, etc. Answer:Explanation / Answer
Answer
A bit theory
A quantitative variable can be measured and compared numerically. Furthermore we can use arithmetic operations on it.
On the other hand categorical variable cannot be measured numerically rather than it's value is more or less comparative (ike good or bad) . It's classes are assigned with numbers, sometime, but it does not have any numerical importance.
Based on such idea
a) Percent of freshmen who eventually graduate is a QUANTATIVE VARIABLE as it can be masured by percen number like 70% or 95% etc.
b) GPA of incoming freshmen is a QUANTATIVE VARIABLE as it can be measured numerically
c) Require SAT or ACT for admission is a CATEGORICAL VARIABLE as it is categorized into several attributes namely required , not used etc
d) College type is CATEGORICAL VARIABLE as it is categorized into several attributes namely liberal arts college etc
Hence the answer............
