Hi,

From the dat aset can you find out:

Mean and standard deviation.?

For the sample, the mean will be the same as that of the population distribution. Standarde deviation will be the 1/sqrt(16) standard deviation of that of population

Then standardize xbar ( here 21.8) by the following to find the Z statistic: Z = X- Mean / (Standard deviation/sqrt(!6))

FOr the 2nd part you will do the same but stnadardize using Z statistic: Z = X- Mean / (Standard deviation)

Then go to Z tables and find the p value corresponding to the above Z value.

The result that can be trusted more is 2nd part, as that is the test statistic of the population.
