Question
Population vs. Sample
These two groups of elements, values, or items associated with a situation are some times very hard to distinguish a difference. Population consist of all of the group involved and a sample is a portion of the population. A sample is most commonly used in statistics as the entire population is generally to large. For this reason it is truly important to get a good sample to represent the population. Also the larger the sample size the more accurate the results will be.
I remember back to when I took Statistics and we had an assignment where we had to determine if a certain group was a sample or a population. One common word to look for is all or everyone in a group.
What typically happens to curves in diagrams as sample size increases?
Explanation / Answer
As the sample size increases, the sample distribution approaches more and more to the population distribution and for the sample size equals to population, both the curves of sample distribution and population distribution become identical.
