Four different designs for a digital computer circuit are being studied in order to compare the amount of noise present. Determine whether the amount of noise present is the same for all four design based on the following data.

Explanation / Answer

a) This is clearly the case of 1 way anova, with 1 categorical and 1 continous variable

b) The treatment variable is the " Circuits" and the noise is the dependent variable

c)

as can be seen from the box plots , the mean values are different . The mean values are different and are denoted by "dots" in the box plots . This is due to between groups variation , as the means of each group is different from one another , atleast visually.

4)

Hypothesis

H0 : There is no difference in the mean values of noise for different circuit groups

H1 : There is a significant difference in the mean values of the noise , atleast for 2 groups
