Question

For the chart below:

Comment on Common Cause

Are there any random cause ?

Do you see any threat in common cause becoming Random Cause , if so which observation ?

What does the Range Chart tell you ?

Explanation / Answer

1) Are there any random cause ? In X bar chart the mean for observation 52 has dropped to zero.which is way drop than all other observations .

2) Do you see any threat in common cause becoming Random Cause , if so which observation ? The observation 17 where mean has dropped to 50, all the observations have commonly mean above 50 .

3) What does the Range Chart tell you ? Range chart have upper limit 35 and lower limit 0 with mean 15. Though very few observations have value near to mean . Many observations have value above mean or very below mean . There is observation 6 which has value above upper limit i.e 48 this is random cause . Also the common cause are many where the values are flucuating above and below mean . Also the random cause is mean observation 52 having value zero .

So range chart has many flucuating value which needs to be controlled .
