Standing at a window on a bright day, hold the lens and an index card so that the scene outside the window is projected onto the card.

Measure the distance from the lens to the card.

I am using a common 2x magnifying glass for this experiment

5. I tried to look at various object through this glass firstly when i am looking at object far from lens about more than 60cm(say) then the objects are smaller but as i bring objects closer to the lens the magnification increses.

6. the far away objects are inverted but the objects real close say 20 cm or 15 cm are not inverted as well as magnified, for the second part the distance from index card to the lens is about 40 cm and the image is inverted.

7.for the image of scene outside the image is inverted small and the lens to card distance is about 40 cm , but for objects real close magnification is obtained ..

8. Focal length is the measure of how much is the light converged by the lens, it is the distance between the lens and the sheet where a parallel beam of light converges at a point on the sheet .for the given lens it is about 25 cm
