Explanation / Answer

Effective Communication in general emphasizes on creating a same understanding between the Sender and the Receiver. It can be done either verbally or in written.

Project Management involves activities right from the inititation of the Project, followed by Planning, Executing along with Controlling and finally Closing to achieve the desired set of goals.

Now, the Project Management involves the above listed stages which includes various sub activities such as communication of the Project Progress to the Stakeholders or the Project manager giving directions to the team to reach the Project Goals etc. The effective communication marks its importance within these activites, for example: if the Team members are not clear of what their tasks are then the Project completion in the desired manner will surely be affected negatively. The Sender of the message should also pay importance to the fact that the Receiver also receives the original intent of the message. The quality of the transferred message to the Receiver can be affected by variables such as the Receiver's emotions, beliefs, values and even by the means communicated. Hence a feedback of the Receiver on the message is a vital part of effective communication. A proper Feedback mechanism ensures that the involved parties are all on the same page regarding the point of interest and hence ensuring the successful completion of the Project.

Employing effective communcation means that both the Receiver and the Sender of the message/information have the same level of understanding on the message in question.
