Instruction

For each predictor variable (X1, X2, X3) describe what the expected direction of the relationship between each X and the criterion or Y variable would be. For example if someone used gender as a predictor (X1) of longevity (Y’), would you expect women or men to live longer? Make a directional prediction (positive or negative) for each of their three predictor variables and state the rationale for each of your predictions.

X2: Cost of Current expenses and College

X3: Money in Savings

X1 has a positive relation with Y because if the person has sufficient retirement income then he could pay his bills and go to school full time.

X2 has a negative relation with Y because if there is highs values of X2 there are lower possibilities of Y.

X3 and Y have positive relation because if there is high values of X3 there are higher possibilities of Y.
