Question

Mindsets

Psychologist have defined two different approaches to life, or mindsets. Some people are classified as having a 'growth' mindset, others as having a 'fixed' mindset. Psychologists define a growth mindset as meaning that a person doesn’t let obstacles get in his or her way; they see challenges as an opportunity to grow. People with growth mindsets have been found to think that if they struggle with material it is a sign that they are really learning something new. They struggle and don’t give up. The opposite mindset that psychologist study is a fixed mindset. People with fixed mindsets are described as thinking that they should just understand new information without trying and will give up if they don’t understand something right away. Based on these descriptions, I think that having a growth mindset means you will be more successful in college. You will also be happier and make friends more easily. Once you have completed your degree, you will get a good job that you really enjoy.
