Question

Study the figure below that was explained in PhysioEx Exercise 2: Skeletal Muscle Physiology, Activity 3: The Effect of Stimulus Frequency on Skeletal Muscle Contraction.

What happens when you increase the frequency of stimulation

A- The amount of force generated decreases in a phenomenon kown as treppe B- The amount of force generated stays the same in a phenomenon known as complete tetanus C- The amount of force generated increases in a phenomenon known as isotonic contraction. D- The amount of force generated increases in a phenomenon known as wave summation 2 (6) uosua

Explanation / Answer

Answer:

When there is the increase in the frequency of stimulation the amount of force generated increases in phenomenon known as wave summation because as the frequency of the stimulation increases the relexation of the musclee does not occur properly as a result of increase in the frequency of stimulation the muscles will begin to twitch and are overlapping on one another as a result no relaxation of the muscle and the frequency of the stimulas will be occuring one after the another within the short interval of time due to which there will be the high muscle contraction.
