1. How do the results from the 1RM bench press max test and YMCA bench press test differ in their assessment of the client? What is the benefit to including each of these tests in a client assessment? Explain.

2. How did the predicted 1-RMs compare to the measured 1-RM values? On the basis of this result, would you recommend using submaximal lifting tests to estimate a 1-RM strength value?

3. Was your Fitness Category and Muscular Endurance Ratings what you were expecting? Explain.

4. What was the most difficult strength test performed? Why?

5. What are some of the cautions one should take into account when doing this style of exercise?

6. What are the multiple advantages and disadvantages of 1-RM testing vs. Submaximal testing? Explain factors that influence when it is appropriate to use each.

Discussion Questions

Explanation / Answer

1. 1 RM bench press test is a test to measure the chest group of muscles maximum strength whereas Ymca bench press test is to measure both the endurance and muscle power of chest muscles. So by implementing both of these test will give information abpot both strenght and endurance of muscles.

2. Since the name says 1 repetition maximum, always maximun weight that can be lifter for further10 repetitions should be selected . Hence submaximal lifting is not recommended.predicted 1RM values are eveluated by predicting how much weight can be lifted and for how many repetitions but measured 1RM values are evaluated by taking the weight lifted and actual number of repetions done.

3.Yes from these bench press test we can expect fitness and muscular endurance since it measures maximal strength capacities, it can also be used to measure force-time, power-time, and velocity-time  As a result, testing can be administered for any athlete or individual for whom you deem it to be an important for, and as a useful marker of physical improvement. Furthermore, it can also be useful to calculate relative strength (kg lifted per kg of body weight) when comparing the strength abilities between multiple athletes/individuals

4.Deep sqatting is one of the difficult strength test due to ineffective dorsiflexion

5.cautions to be taken during this type of exercises is to work on improving it diligently until you have reached the maximum your body will allow to get your squatting mechanics as good as possible.

6.advantages of 1Rm are  no special equipment is needed, the most accurate form of strength testing. Disadvantages are it is time cosuming and can be dangerous to the lifter.

advantages of submaximal testing are can be done by participants of various fitness levels, making the tests time-efficient and cost-effective and mainly it indicates the cardiovascular adaptation.Disadvantages includes that it cannot be administered in elederly patients and people with low resting heart rate.
