Based on findings from Behavioral Genetic Research it is claimed that the; heritability estimates for major personality traits like; extraversion, agreeableness, conscientiousness, neuroticism, openness to experience is of about 20-45 percent; which is sizable. Our genes might exert a greater effect than our environment in this case as research of twin studies have confirmed these claims. However; certain lifestyle adoptions may be due to peer pressure like; drinking and smoking.
