Andrew jackson, the seventh president of the U.S was a soldier and statesman also.He served as general in the U.S army before being elected for president.
Andrew Jackson is known in for his role in native Indian removal,British settlement and development of rights of common men. It was against the corrupt autocracy and for preservation of the Union.
During his service as a colonel he won important victory in war of 1812 over the British at Battle of new Orleans. This made him a national hero.
In 1835 he signed an act known as Indian removal act which forced them to migrate from south to Indian territories.
This process of relocation depressed the native Americans. That leads to huge deaths and sickness in the tribes of native Americans.Andrew Jackson was against the abolitionism uprising.
His reputation and popularity decreased due to civil rights movements because he was supporter of slavery and responsible for Indian removal.
