Question

Please use SPSS to compute the test statistic for the following problems. For those questions, please turn in the appropriate SPSS output. You can copy and paste the relevant portions of the SPSS output into a Word document, and write your answers to the questions I want you to address for each question below, and then paste it into the area beneath the question. For each question, you must do the following: 1. Perform the appropriate analysis 2. Wherever appropriate, calculate and report effect size(s) 3. Make a decision regarding the null hypothesis and write an APA-style conclusion interpreting your statistical results with regard to the aims of the experiment and as you would write it up in a report, including the statistical evidence to back it up.

Explanation / Answer

The above data was analyzed and the following results are found-

The data was further analyzed and ANOVA was calculated to compare the three groups on the variable of the study (attitude towards fate). The results are presented below in Tabel 2-

The results reveal that there exists a significant difference among the three groups (F=4.648, Sig.=.01) on their attitude towards fate. The obtained mean scores reveal that the middle class (M= 9.00, SD= 3.464) attributes that fate is out of their control. Attitude that one is directly responsible for what happens to them, is more among upper class (M= 4.00, SD= 2.756) as opposed to the lower class (M= 8.66, SD= 3.265) which thinks that fate is out of their control.

The null hypothesis stands rejected as the difference on attitude towards fate is found to be significantly differing among the various classes (lower, middle and uper).

Results reveal that the attitude of individuals belonging to middle class towards fate being out of their control is more in comparison to the individuals hailing from lower or upper class.
