Explanation / Answer

Group refers to people coming together to live, share and grow together. They create an identity based on multiple factors such as race, class, ethnicity, religion, workplace etc. They share similar thoughts, work in unity and strive to achoieve a common goal. Group inflence refers to how one functions within the group by conforming to the group's values, beliefs, behaviours and attitudes and remains as the member of the group. There are different forms of groups that require different amount of commitment and conformity. One could consider family, class, race and religion as one's primary group and the level of commitment and conformity to these groups will be very higher. There few secondary groups, such as school, workplace, associations etc. Unlike the primary group where one has less control, If one wishes, one could join any secondary group. Thus group members influence one another throughtout their existence in that group for the better survival of the group.
