Question

In each stage, breakdown the articulatons for knee and hip then include the movements/ motions occuring in each stage for knee and then the hip with what plane (frontal/ sagittal/ transverse) and isotonic contraction (concentric/ eccentric) for each stage motins. Then include what muscles associated with each movements of each joints. Be clear in different, organized paragraph form to understand clearly

2. Side Lunge to Curtsy Lunge. Describe in detail the joints being utilized in the motion, the bones that comprise each of those joints, what joint action is taking place, and the muscles that are generating the motions and what plane of motion and axis of rotation is being utilized for each motion as the person goes from position 1-2. a.

Explanation / Answer

lunge is a lower-body strengthening exercise ,side lunge uses the hip, knee and ankle joints,The hip, knee and ankle flexes and extends when you perform a lunge.

Muscles involved in side lunge are Maximus (glutes), Gluteus Medius/Minimus (Abductors), Quadriceps (quads), Adductors, Transverse Abdominus, Hamstrings, Soleus, Gastrocnemius, Tibialis Anterior it involves concentric contraction.

To perform side lunge take a step to the left, and bend your knee until your upper leg is parallel with the ground. thereby increasing hip mobility. Keep your right leg straight, and don't let either of your heels come off the floor. Push back up to return to your original position, and repeat with the right leg

Crusty lunge is the exercise, start in your original Lunge position. Step your right foot backward, crossing it behind your left leg as if performing a curtsy. Your right knee should be parallel with your left knee, and forming a 90-degree angle with the floor.

The Curtsy lunge involves the gluteal muscles which include the gluteus maximus, gluteus medius and gluteus minimus

Lunges can be done in all three planes of movement.

Saggital plane – The body moves front to back ---crusty lunges

Frontal plane – The body moves side to side -----side lunges

Transverse plane – The body can rotate in each direction
