Explanation / Answer

Question :- ? what contributes to an action potentials to a absolute refractory period?

Ans:-? This is the time during which another stimulus given to the neuron (no matter how strong ) will not lead to the second action potential. Thus because sodiun channels are in activated during this time, additional depolarizing do not lead to new action potentials. The absolute refractory period takes about 1-2 ms. ?Hence, the answer is the inactivation of voltage gated sodium channels at positive membrane potential.

?Question:-? ? Two factors that affects the action potential ,1) velocity are myelienation and 2) lenght of axon.

Ans:- ? True, Because the myelien sheath (Myelienated neuron) always have saltatory conduction of impulse. which is far faster then non myelienated neurons.

Question;-? Action potentials in individual neurons are graded in nature while compound action potential in an entire nerve are all or nothing.

Ans:- its True , Because in compund action potential will have summation of different nerves at same area, that can be all nerve action potentials or nothing.

Question:- The build up of voltage to reach threshold arises from,

?Ans:-? 1) Synaptic transmission of another neuron

   2) Activation of sensory receptors

   3) Sodium influx from voltage gated channels

All are true.
