When David gets up in the morming and voids after an overnight sleep, he notices his urine is darker in color and smaller in volume than at most other times of the day. What is the reason for the dark color and smaller volume? 2. David has discovered that after having a couple of beers with friends on a Saturday night, he often has to void a significant volume of urine, more than the volume of the beers he consumed. 1 . Because of fluid deprivation, kiney excretes less amount of water to maintain cell turgor pressure so surine has became concentrated and led to dark coloured urine and smaller volume. It is important that David should take ample amount of water to avoid dehydration and chances of ureteric stones.
2. As David has consumed lots of fluid in form of beer, it led to load on kidney and to maintain intracellular fluid, kidney excretes large amount of fluids which is light coloured.
3. In gym there is lots of fluid loss in form of sweating and through lungs in form of water vapours so it leads to fluid retention and less urine out put. Again it is important that David should consume lots of fluids to avoid dehydration.
