Energy and soft drink are very popular especially among the youth and the children. These energy drinks and soft drinks are loaded with caffeine the most commonly used psychoactive drug which makes addictive to it and has many adverse effects when it is consumed above the warning level. The three commonalities that were discussed are :
The way energy drinks are promoted through the commercials in media, their popularity will be on rise in the coming days. They have got great taste and moreover they are addictive due to the caffeine content. All these factors will promote the popularity of the energy drinks. But, as responsible citizens and responsible parents there needs to create awareness among the people about the serious adverse effects that the overloaded caffeine content has on the growing children and how immediate steps are required to prevent the overloading of caffeine content in these drinks. Studies confirm that high intake of caffeine content among children is responsible for attention deficient issues, mood disorders, cause seizures, cause heart problems. Atleast a regulation is needed so that these beverages do not reach to the hands of the young ones for whom these are hazardous.
