Question
Plese tell me the Type of mobile communication in detail.. ie I need to What is GSM, CDMA, WiMAX, WiFi, Bluetooth, & InfraRed..Plz explian mobile communication by generation. What is 1st genenation, 2nd generation, 3rd generation, 4th generation Mobile communication in detail. I know CDMA and GSM are 2nd Generation Mobile communication. What is 3G. Shall we use both GSM and CDMA sim in 3G dongle? Also plz tell me what is 1G, 2G, 3G & 4G(2G=GSM, CDMA)(1G=?)(3G=WCDMA for GSM, CDMA=?)(4G=?)
Explanation / Answer
GSM-(Global System for Mobile Communications), is a standard set developed by the European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI) to describe protocols for second generation (2G) digital cellular networks used by mobile phones The GSM standard was developed as a replacement for first generation (1G) analog cellular networks, and originally described a digital, circuit switched network optimized for full duplex voice telephony. This was expanded over time to include data communications, first by circuit switched transport, then packet data transport via GPRS (General Packet Radio Services) and EDGE (Enhanced Data rates for GSM Evolution or EGPRS). CDMA- Code division multiple access (CDMA) is a channel access method used by various radio communication technologies. CDMA is an example of multiple access, which is where several transmitters can send information simultaneously over a single communication channel. This allows several users to share a band of frequencies (see bandwidth). To permit this to be achieved without undue interference between the users CDMA employs spread-spectrum technology and a special coding scheme (where each transmitter is assigned a code). CDMA is used as the access method in many mobile phone standards such as cdmaOne, CDMA2000 (the 3G evolution of cdmaOne), and WCDMA (the 3G standard used by GSM carriers), which are often referred to as simply CDMA. WiMax- WiMAX (Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access) is a wireless communications standard designed to provide 30 to 40 megabit-per-second data rates. "Wi-Fi" is used in general English as a synonym for "WLAN". Only Wi-Fi products that complete Wi-Fi Alliance interoperability certification testing successfully may use the "Wi-Fi CERTIFIED" trademark. A device that can use Wi-Fi (such as a personal computer, video-game console, smartphone, digital camera, tablet or digital audio player) can connect to a network resource such as the Internet via a wireless network access point. Bluetooth- Bluetooth is a wireless technology standard for exchanging data over short distances (using short-wavelength radio transmissions in the ISM band from 2400
