Question
Column A and Column B both have part numbers in them that need to be sorted numerically and simultaneously, I.e.
A B
_ 5
1 _
_ 3
4 _
2 _
would be:
A B
1 _
2 _
_ 3
4 _
_ 5
Someone suggested: =IF(B2="",C2,B2) it works sometimes but it is choking up at the bottom of the spreadsheet. Where column B has no number it is not reporting the number in column C. I checked the formatting in each cell. Matched formatting. Verified there are no stray characters or codes. Sorted in the event that the cell was not showing the part no from column B. No results.
Any other ideas? Thanks a million :)))

Use an extra column with next concatenate formula example
=A1 & B1
Fill down , next sort on that extra column
