Question

I recently purchased the Home 365 subscription and Office installed with out a hitch. After a week the Help button in Excel started displaying a message box titled Microsoft Office Help Viewer with the message: 'Help isn't working, but you can still go to Office.com to get the latest and greatest articles, videos, and training courses.' The Help button in all other Office Programs is working as expected.

I searched the MS technical sites and found a solution to rename Microsoft Help folder to Microsoft Help.old and then repair the Office installation. I have tried to repair twice without success. The Microsoft Help folder was never recreated and I still have the renamed Microsoft Help.old folder. I then used the 'FixIt' tool to uninstall office and reinstalled fresh. Same problem. I even tried as one suggested and defragged my hdd.

I still can not use the Excel help button , however all the other Office programs arre not affectedd. It appears as this is a connection issue and Excel can't connect to the help source. Is there a fixx for this???

Thanks,

Hi Stanley

It was happen to me the same as you it didn't work at all with what ever the suggestion I try. so I did uninstall and re-install the office 2013 again it start to work for a while and stop working again. I notice that after I run my Argente Utilities it was happen. So after that I set up my Argente Utilities don't run auto and I uninstall and re install office 2013 again.

My Office 2013 help is still working. So far so good I didn't run the Argente Utilities yet. It has been almost 3 weeks and Let me see what will happen without running Argente Utilities.

It may not be the right solution without Argente Utilities on my machine. But let me see what will happen.
