Trying to start up a system
Greetings all,
I am a relatively new user to Excel and I am having trouble trying to set up a system from where the value from one cell will produce text that has been pre-defined elsewhere, perhaps in a table on a different sheet.
Allow me to elaborate, a box has dimensions X,Y & Z and the total volume V. What I am trying to achieve is the following:
G4 in this case is just a random cell chosen for the purpose of this example. This is a very simplified case of what I am trying to achieve, in reality there would be many, many more results than just Small, Medium & Large, most having specific values reliant upon maybe multiple variables.
As previously mentioned, I am relativey new, so speak simply so my little brain can keep up!!!
Any help at all that can point me in the right direction would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!!!!!

A very simple example...
=IF(B2<10,"Small",IF(B2<100,"Medium","Large"))
A moderately more complicated example involves looking up a value in one column and returning a value from another column. The "VLookup" function can do that.
There are many Excel formula examples available. A good place to start looking is the Excel help file under "functions".
