Question

Copying SUMIFS formulas

I have a spreadsheet that has the following information in columns A, B and C

I am trying to use the following sumifs formula in column C

=SUMIFS($H$8:$H$654,$A$8:$A$654,"=Smith, John I",$B$8:$B$654,"=DF-Corporate Borrowings - Other")

I need to change the text fields in the formula each time column B changes and then each time column A and column B change to a new employee and area of practice.

When i copy the formula, i have to manually type in the text fields each time. Instead of manually typing in either field, i tried to reference a cell that had that information but it does not work.

Any suggestions on hoow i might make this process simpler for me?

Thanks!!!!
