Question
I wonder if someone can help or provide some advice with a problem that a client of mine is experiencing with Office 2011 (v14.4.3).
The problem is when trying to Open or Save a Office document to a network volume, and when selecting the shared network volumes, there is no file/folder listing within the Open/Save dialogue.
NON-WORKING SAVE DIALOGUE:-
WORKING SAVE DIALOGUE:-
I have tried toggling the file/folder listing views between Icons, List, Tree, Cover Flow views within that Open / Save dialogue remains empty.
Whenever this problem has occurred I have opened TextEdit and test saved a test document and the File / Folder listing of the network volume appears correctly within TextEdit's Save dialogue box so I don't think it is a problem with the system.
I have removed MS Office Preferences and Caches but this did not resolve the issue.
I have created a Test User and logging in as this new user and I have tested and the problem exists with the new users account so it is system-wide.
I have uninstalled Office 2011 (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2398768) and reinstalled Office 2011 (updated to the latest patches) but the problem still exists.
The system software is Mac OS X 10.9.4 and we other users on that same OS revision using the same version/build of Office 2011 and they're working correctly.
We have ran the system maintenance utility Onyx as far as running the Automation scripts which repairs permissions, clears caches, runs maintenance scripts, etc, but this did not resolve the issue.
We have provided a temporary workaround which is to add a folder from the share to a Finder windows sidebar but this does not always resolve the issue and again shows no files listed some of the time.
The client computer that runs Office 2011 connects to the Servers Shares using the hostname of the Server but I have also changed this to connect via IP address and tested Office $2011 with that type of connection but that did not resolve the issue.
Any help is greatly appreciated!!.

To add to my previous notes, I have since downloaded and installed the OS X 10.9.4 Combo Update but the problem still exists.
Also I captured some Console Log lines at the time of attempting to save an Excel doc to the Fileserver as per below...
